Svitlana Voytsekhovska, cofounder of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress, in her concluding speech, addressed the three directions for the next year:
“First, we will keep up good work in defending the rights of the female activists, candidates and politicians during elections and following them. We have to provide real tools to eliminate different forms of discrimination and ensure equal representation of women and men in the elected authorities and state bodies.
Second, we have to join the effort of all branches of power and engage local authorities in implementing efficient strategies for overcoming economic crises through attracting investments and funding of business projects, taking into account the gender perspective.
Third, it is important to continue consistent work in implementing the policies of equal rights and opportunities in all spheres and at all levels, especially during the pandemic and under quarantine restrictions. The policies that take into account the needs of different groups of men and women are more efficient. They are especially important for the healthcare sector: both for patients and medical staff,” Svitlana Voytsekhovska, cofounder of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress, said.
The Ukrainian Women’s Congress lasted for two days, November 25 and 26. Due to the pandemic, the event took place online
