Liliia Hrynevych graduated with honors from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in the specialty “Biochemist-Teacher”. Graduated from the Interdisciplinary Institution of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining at Lviv Polytechnic National University and obtained the qualification of “Economist-Manager”. Completed training programs at Warsaw and Columbia Universities, conducted research on the problems of reforming the education system.

She has passed all stages of professional career in the field of education and science: from Biology Teacher, Deputy Director, Headmaster of School, Senior Lecturer at universities to the Director General of the Head Department of Education and Science at Kyiv City State Administration.

Lilia Hrynevych appealed to the creation of ‘External Independent Evaluation system’, working as the director of the Center for Test Technologies of the International Renaissance Foundation, and later in 2006 as the first director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment. External evaluation in Ukraine has been identified as one of the most successful reforms in the field of education (by opinion polls).

Member of Parliament of Ukraine of VII-VIII convocations, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education (2012-2016); Co-Chair of the Inter-Factional Association ‘Equal Opportunities’ (2014-2016);

Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine (2016-2019).

Liliia Hrynevych led the development of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Education’ and the implementation of the reform ‘New Ukrainian School’.
