The 14th of October is the Ukrainian Defender’s Day. The security and defense sectors are traditionally considered as a men’s deal, the place for men’s strength, knowledge, and energy.
International Day of Peace was started in 1981 but began to be celebrated annually on September 21, 2002. The UN has proposed to make it more significant, calling on warring parties around the world to declare a ceasefire and to renounce violence on this day.
The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has still not introduced a bill on its ratification to the parliament, although the Ministry of Social Policy stated that had prepared the document.
The petition was published on the President’s website on 24 February, and by today it has been supported by over 40 public organizations and over 26 thousand people.
The 3rd Ukrainian Women’s Congress called Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to consider gender equality principles and adopt ethic code as parts of parliamentary reform. This was declared by Maria Ionova, people’s deputy of Ukraine, co-chair of the inter-fractional parliamentary association “Equal opportunities”.
